This award recognizes nurses for their dedication to the advancement of nursing practice and who excel in nursing, encourage professional development and promote a positive image of nursing.
Travis is involved in a number of professional development programs and is a leader and advocate for nurses throughout the organization on many levels. She is a primary preceptor for new nurses and a system manager for the unit’s electronic medical record system. She also worked on revising the hospital’s Clinical Ladder Program and creating the Charge Nurse Leader job description and training program.
She is currently a member of the American Nurses Association, Association of Women’s Health Obstetrics and Neonatal Nurses, and the Louisiana Capital Area Chapter of the American Red Cross.
A resident of Ethyl, Travis is nationally certified in inpatient obstetrics and has more than six years of health care experience. She was nominated for the Rookie of Year Nightingale Award in 2015 and was Lane’s Employee of the Month in April 2016. She is a member of Second Baptist Church in Jackson and enjoys spending time with her family, friends and golden retriever Scout.
