Congestive Heart Failure or "CHF" is a weakening of the heart's pumping power. With heart failure, your body does not get enough oxygen and nutrition to meet its needs. This does not mean your heart has stopped working, but it is not working as well as it should.
Every second counts. Delays increase the likelihood and amount of heart damage due to low oxygen. Time is muscle. So get medical help as quickly as possible.
As a close friend or family member, you have an important role in the care of our patient. Your support, caring reassurance and advocacy for the patient is essential for their well-being.

You have been scheduled for surgery at Lane Regional Medical Center. For your safety, your stomach must be empty before getting anesthesia. It is very important that you follow these eating and drinking instructions closely. If you do not, your procedure may be delayed or canceled.
As hospital stays after surgery become shorter, it is more important than ever for you to be prepared for surgery and to take an active part in your recovery. More than half of the surgeries performed at Lane Regional Medical Center are done on an outpatient basis, which we refer to as "day surgery.” Patients are cared for by our perioperative team in the Day Surgery Unit.
