Courtney Travis, BSN, RN, RNC-OB, C-ONQS has been named as a 2025 40 Under 40 Rising Star honoree by the Louisiana State Nurses Association. This award recognizes the future leaders of nursing who exemplify dedication to the nursing profession and demonstrate exceptional leadership qualities.
Courtney is Charge Nurse for the Surgical Care unit at Lane Regional Medical Center. She is nationally certified in lean healthcare leadership, inpatient obstetric nursing, neonatal resuscitation, and neonatal quality and safety. She serves as lead new nurse perceptor and is an Epic certified credentialed trainer and clinical nurse lead for all surgical services information technology and nursing informatics projects. She is also a Neonatal Resuscitation Program instructor and preceptor for AHEC summer high school medical program students.
Courtney is involved in a number of professional development programs and is a leader and advocate for nurses throughout Lane on many levels. She is a member of Lane’s Nursing Shared Governance Council and the Nursing Clinical Ladder program and was previously a member of Lane’s Family Advisory Council, the Louisiana Perinatal Quality Collaborative team and the Louisiana Department of Health Gift breastfeeding initiative team.
During Courtney’s 13 years of health care experience at Lane, she received the Camp Compliance Code of Conduct Award in 2024, the Celebrate Nursing Award in 2017, was Lane’s Employee of the Month in April 2016, and was nominated for the Rookie of Year Nightingale Award in 2015 and Lane’s Daisy Award in 2012.
She is currently a member of the American Nurses Association, Louisiana State Nurses Assocation, Association of Operating Room Nurses, Sigma Theta Tau Nursing Honor Society, and the Louisiana Capital Area Chapter of the American Red Cross.
