Ali Brunson is this year’s recipient of the Lane Regional Medical Center Auxiliary Scholarship. A 2018 graduate of Zachary High School, Ali is the daughter of Joshua and Amanda Brunson of Zachary.
At ZHS, Brunson earned a 4.4 GPA in academically advanced course work, including various advanced placement and honors level courses. She was a member of the National Honor Society, Beta Club, and a National Merit Scholarship Commended Student. Brunson was also a member of the ZHS Cross Country team and State Championship Track team, and a volunteer with the Zachary Food Pantry and Prevent Child Abuse Louisiana.Brunson will attend Louisiana State University and major in pre-med. Her future plans are to attend medical school to become a pediatrician with a focus on neonatology or pediatric oncology.
Each year, the Lane Regional Medical Center Auxiliary awards a $2800 scholarship to a high school graduating senior who will be attending a Louisiana college and majoring in a healthcare field. To qualify the applicant must be a resident of Lane’s service area, Hospital Service District #1, and must have maintained at least an A-B average in high school.
