Lane Honored as Platinum Award Hospital Partner by LOPA

Lane Regional Medical Center received the 2021 Platinum Award, the highest honor awarded, for extraordinary efforts in the Workplace Partnership for Life campaign from the Louisiana Organ Procurement Agency (LOPA).

Workplace Partnership for Life is a national initiative that unites the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and the organ donation community with workplaces throughout the nation to spread the word about the importance of donation. Platinum recognition signifies Lane’s commitment to being a workplace partner and spreading awareness and promoting donor registration.

To achieve this distinction, Lane continues to honor organ, eye, and tissue donors by supporting LOPA’s events during the year and also uses available resources to spread awareness and information at every opportunity.  The shared goal of the campaign is to promote a “donation-friendly America” by fostering organ donation education and creating opportunities for individuals to sign up to save lives.

“We are proud to support LOPA’s mission to promote organ, eye and tissue donation,” said Larry Meese, CEO. “We realize the positive impact that organ donation can have on both recipients as well as a donor’s family.”

One organ donor can potentially save up to eight lives. More than 50 people can benefit from one donor’s tissue donation. To learn more, visit www.lopa.org.
