A symbolic groundbreaking event will be held at the construction site of the all new Lodge at Lane Assisted Living, Memory Care, and Skilled Nursing facility located next to Lane Regional Medical Center in Zachary. In this year of COVID and past gathering restrictions, the official groundbreaking ceremony was delayed until COVID restrictions eased. While The Lodge at Lane construction is well underway, owners of the new state-of-the-art facility felt it appropriate and important to the community to conduct a symbolic groundbreaking ceremony amid the rapidly progressing development.
“We are delighted with the progress being made in the construction of the Lodge at Lane,” comments Kaley Hill, President of Hometown Healthcare Management. Hill is leading the construction and expansion of Lane Nursing Home as it becomes The Lodge at Lane. He will also serve as Administrator of the facility once it opens in 2022. Hill also announced that Lane Nursing Home Director of Nursing, Patsy Lofstrom, who has served in that capacity with Lane for over eight years, will continue serving in that role as Lane Nursing Home becomes The Lodge at Lane.
Zachary native and long time resident John Stagg serves as CEO of Baton Rouge based Hometown Healthcare Management and offered comments on the Lodge at Lane. “This facility will provide many benefits to the people of Zachary and the surrounding region. First there is the tremendous economic impact that it will have, not only during the construction phase, but also after opening as it will keep existing jobs while providing new ones in our community. Also of benefit is that The Lodge at Lane will provide a modern, safe, and convenient assisted living/memory care facility right here close to home. It will be of great importance to families seeking assistance for their loved ones.” Stagg mentions that The Lodge at Lane is already accepting reservations for the new facility with nearly 50% of the suites already booked by families.
The Lodge at Lane was purchased from Lane Regional Medical Center in late 2020 but continues providing nursing home services under the Lane Nursing Home name while construction is underway. The new facility and Lane Nursing Home will adopt The Lodge at Lane name upon completion of construction. The symbolic groundbreaking is set for Wednesday, May 26 at 11:30am at the construction site of The Lodge at Lane located at 6170 Carpenter Road in Zachary, just adjacent to Lane Regional Medical Center. Local dignitaries and guests will be present to help in the ceremonial event.
Hometown Healthcare Management, LLC out of Baton Rouge, is the developer of The Lodge at Lane and will collaborate with Carpenter Road, LLC to build the new facility. Investar Bank is providing financing for the year long construction phase of the project. The firm Ritter Maher are architects for the project.
