Dr. Joshua Best was born and raised in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. A graduate of Louisiana State University, he received his medical degree and completed his obstetrics-gynecology residency at LSU Health Sciences Center in Shreveport.
Dr. Best joined Lane's Medical Staff in August 2010. He is trained to handle all manners of OB/GYN-related issues, including normal and high-risk pregnancy, contraception, abnormal menstrual bleeding, pelvic pain and menopausal symptoms.
Dr. Best feels that communication is a vital part of the doctor-patient relationship. He takes time with each patient to ensure she has a thorough understanding of her particular problems and needs as well as all of her treatment options.
It is Dr. Best's personal belief that women's health is a collaborative effort. The patient should play an active role in her treatment planning, and she should not feel that the terms of her treatment are dictated to her.
